Item Succession of Decay and Stain Fungi in Stored Conifer Pulpwood Logs in Kenya(1978) . Olembo, T.W.; Griffin H.D.This study has established perhaps for the first time that the lower fungi belonging mainly to the hyphomycetes also play a significant role in the decay and stain defect in stored logs in both pinus patula and p. radiata colonization by trichodema sp. was most rapid causing a decline in the intial visible colonisation by stereum senguinolentum . the phenomenon of this rapid succession of these two fungi is discussed. it was also observed that cupresus jusitenica was remarkably resistant to such decay and stain organisms.
