Item Regional Research Centre Review Mission Report Volume 3 on National Plant Breeding Research Centre Kitale(Kenya Agricultural Research Institute, 1990) Kenya Agricultural Research Institute; Anandajayasekeram, P.; Wanjama, J.K.; Njuguna, S.K.; Okech, A.G; Kusewa, P.K.As a research centre, NARC Kitale has resources that are adequate to facilitate reasonable amount of research activities. The centre has adequate land resource that would cater for both research and commercial activities with 40 research officers of BSc and above, the centre /handles research activities in 13 disciplines. The funds for research mainly come from the Government of Kenya through Kenya Agriculture Research Centre (KARI). Some assistance (finance and technical)is sometimes provided by donors or through collaborative research. The allocation of the resources available at the centre to the various activities or officers is determined at the centre level.Item Regional Research Centre Review Mission Report Volume 6 on Kakamega Regional Research Centre(Kenya Agricultural Research Institute, 1990) Anandajayasekeram, P.; Okech, A.G; Kusewa, P.K.; Wanjama, J.K.The Regional Research Centre(RRC) Kakamega which serves Western Province, and a district each in Nyanza and Rift Valley Provinces, in this chapter, described with respect to the origin, present location and staff and as given by KARI. Kakamega RRC has only one sub-center, at Alupe in Busia District. The History and mandate of which are also similarly described in this chapter.
