Item The Utilization of Sisal Waste in Java and Sumatra-Part V(January 1940) den Doop, J. E. A; Bandoeng, Java.,In Parts III and IV of this series of articles the complete exhaustion history of the red soil of Soekamandi estate has been discussed. It was shown that the order of exhaustion of the three chief plant-food substances in this soil is: potassium, phosphorus, nitrogen. Furthermore, it appeared that if this soil is completely exhausted as regards potassium by sisal growing, soil phosphorus becomes unavailable as the result of exhaustion of decomposable organic matter in the soil.
