Item Observations on the White Fulani (Bunaji) Zebu Cattle of Northern Nigeria in a Southern Nigeria Environment Feed Intake, Yield and Composition of Milk Of Cows Fed Supplementary Concentrates On Pasture(1974) OIaIoku E. A.; . Oyenuga V. AThe White Fulani (Bunaji) zebu cattle described by Mason (1951) has for long been recognized as one of Nigeria's potential breeds for milk production (Shaw and Colville, 1950; Faulkner and Epstein, 1957). Although the level of milk production of the breed is low by world dairy standards, management practice on stations where it has been kept involves the feeding of supplementary concentrates for milk production. This practice derives in part from the general view that the roughage available for feeding is usually inadequate as to quantity and quality in meeting the nutrient needs of the cow for maintenance and the production of up to 5-10 kg milk per day.
