Item In Vitro Propagation of Fig through Shoot Tip Culture(1982) Muriithi, L.M.; Rangan, T.S.; Waite, B.H.; Plant Quarantine Station, KARI, P.O. Box 30148, Nairobi, KenyaShoot tips, excised from 7 fig cvs with symptoms of fig mosaic virus, and cultured on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 0.18 mg/litre NAA + 0.1 mg/l BA + 0.03 mg/l GA, developed into shoots. These shoots were induced to root on MS containing 0.5 mg/l NAA + 0.5 mg/l IBA, and were subsequently transferred to soil and kept in the greenhouse. All the regenerated plants were free of virus symptoms after 15 months.
