The persistence of insecticides in Tropical Soils I - Preliminary investigations
    (1958) Mesmer, E.T.; Robinson, J.
The interpretation of the entomological observations obtained in experiments on the control of soil pests in East Africa is difficult owing to the lack of information on the persistence of insecticides in local soils. Experiments were carried out at Kawanda, Uganda, with a view to obtaining reliable data, but the data obtained were so variable that it was difficult to deduce any valid conclusions, and the experiments were, in fact, shelved for a time until the experimental technique had been improved and convenient statistical procedures obtained for handling the data.
