Research Needs

Let me start with the usual platitude by stating that there is con6iderable need for more research, but then proceed to specify that what is particularly needed is a coordinated or team approaoh to research. Studies should not just concern themselves with the ecology of wildlife and of their environments, but increasingly more with how various types of land use affect wildlife, what the economics aJre of the utilization of animal products and o.f the aesthetic uses of wildlife, how protein fr.om wildlife can be made available to the needy and what the attitudes of the various strata in our society are toward wildlife. Research should be aimed primarily at solving management problems.
