Phoma Herbarum Westend: A pathogen of Acacia Mearnsii De Wild in Kenya

There is little evidence directly implicating species of Phoma either with dieback or with term canker diseases of economically important trees. Although isolations have been made of a Phoma-like fungus from tumours of Ulmus and Acer (Brown, 1941), of Phoma and Gloeosporium from cankers of Smilax (Dodge & Rickett, 1943), and of Phoma and Cylindrocarpon from Querclls (Moreau, 1950), the pathogenicity of these isolates was not confirmed.
