Stored legumes in the tropics are very susceptible to attack by members of the insect family Bruchidae. Uganda is no exception, and a recent survey of storage on African farms and Indian stores in Northern Uganda revealed that infestation was frequently very high. The damage these beetles cause is such that the institution of control measures would be well worth while.en
