Abstract

Four strains of Dumpy Deli from Malaysia, a Nigeri1an dura and a Dumpy Deli x pisifera hybrid were evaluated over a 9-year period for fresh fruit bunch yield (FFB) components and bunch quality characters. Signilficant differences were observed among genotypes for nwnber of bunches (NB), FFB and mean bunch weight (MBW). Broad sense heritability (H) of FFB, NB and MBW were 45.4 percent, 75.88 percent and 77.19 percent respectively. The corresponding repeatabi,li·ty e,stimates were 43.42 peroent, 72.75 percent and 62.6 percent. I'll all genotypes, NB decreased while MBW increased with age of ,palms in producti·on. The production pattern of FFB and its components within the fir·st four years were significantly different from the pattern in the terminal five years. Dumpy Deli x pisifera hybl'id performed
