Abstract
This pilot study, begun in July, 1981, is the first stage in developing a methodology to provide basic information on soil erosion to planners, district officials and operating ministries in Kenya. The results of this programme will provide some of the crucial environmental data that will help NEHSS to execute its mandate to monitor the state of the national environment.
