Abstract

Approximately 9,000 square kilometres (3,500 square miles) of east Ankole District, Uganda, are potentially highly productive grasslands. The area, at a general altitude of 1,225 to 1,525 m. (4,000-5,000 ft.) is one of undulating hills rising 100-200 m. above broad, flat valleys.
