Abstract
This paper deals only with the tsetse fly, Glossina palpalis fuscipes, Newstead which occurs in Kenya along the shores and on the islands of Lake Victoria and along many of the rivers running into it. There were no other species of tsetse in the area with which we are concerned. G.. palpa1is was found up to an altitude of 5,250 feet in the Nyando river basin vegetation fringing the rivers and sometimes forming patches of forest.
