Altitude and Entries in the Environmental Responses of 1976 77 Eastern African Maize Variety Trial

Abstract

Seed for the 1976-77 Eastern African Maize (Zea mays L.) Variety Trial (EAMVT) was distributed to over 100 sites in eastern Africa, the Middle East, the Cameroon, Nigeria, and Mexico. Twenty-seven sites returned data acceptable for inclusion in this summary. These sites 'were located in Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, ,Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. A few sites were discarded after analysis because of unacceptably high coefficients of variation, indicating that results of those sites were not reliable.
