Aerial application of fungicides and insecticides on coffee is fairly new in Kenya and how far this method is safely applicable to diverse disease and pest problems is still uncertain. Although a fair amount is known about the kind of spray cover which can be obtained, relatively little data are available on the level of disease or pest control that can be achieved. However, aerial spraying has many practical, and possibly economic, advantages over ground spraying and it is probably because of this that growers are prepared to use aircraft to spray coffee before a thorough examination of the technique and its efficiency in disease and pest control has been completed.en
