Abstract

The Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI) is a parastatal organization, established by the Science and Technology Amendment Act Cap. 250 of 1979 (Laws of Kenya) with a mandate for conducting livestock, crop and factor and regional research programmes in support of further development of the agricultural sector in Kenya. The Institute manages a number of research centres and sub-centres spread out nation-wide, each with a specific mandate that may be national, regional or both.
