dc.description.abstractA destructive bacterial disease of field pea and sweet pea has appeared recently in the Northern Province of Tanganyika Territory The identity of the bacteria concerned is not yet certain, but it is considered advisable to bring the disease to the notice of farmers,gardeners and others without delay. Material has been sent for identification to Dr. W. J.Dowson at the Botany School, Cambridge, and he has kindly undertaken investigation of the organisms present. His conclusions are awaited and will be communicated in a subsequent number of this Journal.en
