Detailed Soil Survey of Mathina Farm (Kieni East Division, Nyeri Discrict) 1990

Abstract

Mathina farm was formerly a ranch owned by the white settlers who later sold it to a group of local people. The farm was subdivided into individual plots, most of which are in general about 1/2 of a hectare. However, a few are bigger but rarely more than 5 hectares. The former settler had developed an irrigation canal drawing water from the Nairobi river which borders the farm. The canal provided water for irrigating grass.
