dc.description.abstract | This report descrihes the soils of the Moi Forces Academy area, Nairobi. The surveyed area comprises about 60 hectares, from which five mapping units have been identified and investigated. Chapter 1 gives an account of the environmental conditions. Chapter 2 outlines the survey procedures while chapter 3 gives an account of the prevailing soil conditions. Land suitability for irrigation is given in chapter 4. About 32 hectares are considered suitable for irri- gation after land improvement. Suitability of Nairobi river water for irrigation is given in chapter 5. Appendix 1 gives detailed descriptions of representative soil profiles with analytical data. Appendix 2 is a detailed soil map of the Moi Forces Academy area. | en |
