Abstract
Four glass house experiments were initiated at Kitale, Kenya between December, 1972 and February, 1974 to assess the effects of seed threshing, scarification and storage on the germination of D. uncinatum (Jacq.) D.C. These studies demonstrated that seed threshing and scarification increase germination. There was
no decline in viability, and germination improved slightly when the seed was stored for 12 months but scarification was still required.
