Abstract
An important aspect of crop protection spraying, particularly with small volumes of liquid, is the size of the spray droplets used and therefore the number available for distribution on the crop. This number increases rapidly with reduction of the diameter of the droplets from a given volume of liquid. Therefore a method is required for breaking the spray into the smallest droplets that can be deposited on the crop in sufficient number to provide effective cover.
