Maize fertilizer trials carried out over two seasons in Western Tanzania were sampled for the purpose of carrying out leaf analysis. This paper presents and discusses relationships between maize leaf nitrogen or phosphorus figures, maize yield and maize yield responses to two rates of nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers. The practical uses of the leaf analysis technique in this area are indicated.en
