Abstract

Little need be said about catching fish. A variety of methods such as lines, nets or traps may be used. Native fish poisons, such as Tephrosia or candelabrum Euphorbia, are an effective method of catching fish in small pools, but it should be noted that the use of these is normally illegal. In general, it may be said that large, striking or brightlycoloured fish are likely to be better known and of less interest to the specialist than smaller species of duller aspect.
