In conclusion, accurate discharge-measurement from these catchments will be permanently handicapped by shifting stream-beds and heavy detritus movements during spate discharges. During the immediate future, the present arrangements, together with the recently installed improvements, will be carefully checked and calibration will continue. Particular attention is to be paid to the stability of the stream-beds in the approaches to the flumes to ensure that the rating-curve retains a constant accuracy. If future experience shows that fluctuating bed conditions cannot be fully controlled and that low discharge inaccuracies are therefore inevitable, it is intended to install entirely separate measuring devices in each stream to deal solely with low discharges and minimum recession flows.en
