dc.description.abstractDuring recent years the Tetranyohidae have received attention In crop protection studies Uganda following the outbreak of the green cassava a mite, Mononyehellus tanajoa (80nda.r)November 1971. Prior to this date, there was no record of phytohagous mites infesting cassava in Africa except for the report by Rodngues (1959) Of Tetranychus spaff. truncaius attacking cassava ,n Mozambque. Since then the authors have surveyed the Literature pertaining to the phytophagous mites associated with cassava, their world wide distribution, alternative host plants and biological control.en
