Abstract

The Mediterranean fruit fly, (Med-fly), Cerattis capitata Wied., has been associated With KC1lya Coffea arabica for many years, but its pest status has not been clearly defined. Because of their impression that the larvae of this fly fed on saccharine material in coffee berries, entomologists did not investigate the economic potential of this species in spite of the concern expressed by farmers
