When cattle are dipped in a water-soluble preparation such as sodium arsenite, the proportions of water and insecticide removed from the bath are in the same ratio as that existing in the dipping fluid itself. In the case of insoluble substances formulated as oil emulsions or wettable powders, however, there is a relatively greater loss of insecticide, thus causing a gradual decrease in the concentration of active material remaining in the dip tank.en
