East African Agricultural and Forestry Journal, XXXV (No 4), 386-388. https://doi.org/10.1080/00128325.1970.116624250012-8325https://kalroerepository.kalro.org/handle/0/2578Measurements of carbon dioxide concentrations were made at three heights, two inside and one above tea and sugar-cane plantations in Uganda, using an infra-red gas analyser. No systematic difference in CO2 concentration in the atmosphere above and within the tea canopy was observed. There was a large diurnal variation in CO2 concentration above sugar-cane, but the maximum drop in CO2 concentration in the top 30 cm. of the canopy was 25 p.p.m. below atmospheric. The CO2 profiles obtained over sugar-cane were similar to those observed in tall grass and beans (Monteith, 1962) and in corn (Lemon, 1960).enhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/A note on carbon dioxide profiles in canopies of mature tea and sugar cane in UgandaJournal ContributionCarbon dioxideTeaSugarcaneYieldshttps://doi.org/10.1080/00128325.1970.11662425
