Abstract

Nine scientists from Embu (2), Muguga (1), Kisii (3) and Kitale (3) were trained on basic use of GIS from 10th _13th February 1997. Maps of the Embu, Muguga, Kisii and Kitale mandate region agro-ecological zones and trial sites were prepared. Four technical officers (David Cheruiyot, Lucy Karani, Anne Masinde and Masibili) proceeded to Britain (Aberdeen University) on the 23rd of January to pursue a three-months course in forage production and livestock systems. They are expected back at the end of April, 1998.
