Abstract
The International Institute of Biological Control (until recently CIBC, the CAB International Institute of Biological Control) has been running its Kenya station at KARl's National agricultural Research Centre (NARC), Muguga, since 1981. Although its mandate is regional, it works very closely with KARl's biological control programme, and the facilities of the Kenya Station are shared with the Division of Entomology and Biocontrol of NARC. IIBC provides a world service in Integrated Pest Management emphasising biological control, and the Kenya station is one of several around the world which are run from the Headquarters unit at silwood Park, U.K. IIBC is a member institute of C.A.B International, an international inter-governmental organisation, owned and directed by the 29 member countries which include Kenya. CAB International exists to provide a world service to agriculture, including literature services, identification services, a development service and the biological control service (IIBC).
