Item The Behaviour and Role of Glossina longipennis as a Vector of Trypanosomiasis in Cattle at GaIana Ranch, South-eastern Kenya.(Kenya Trypanosomiasis Research Institute, 1994) Mukami, N.J.; Kenya Trypanosomiasis Research Institute; University of BristolThe behaviour and vectorial role of G. iongipennis in the transmission of trypanosomiasis to cattle in Galana ranch was studied. A sampling method was first evaluated by comparing several trap types and odours. The F3 trap, baited with acetone, octenol and p-cresol caught more than 12 times the control without odour, with an efficiency of about 25 %. No synergism or interference between acetone, ctenol or p-cresol was evident from the tsetse catches .
