Abstract

The use of soil blocks in place of clay pots for raising plants has been in general practice in Britain for the past five years. Many large nurseries have practically discarded clay pots completely, and now raise all their nursery stock in soil blocks, which have proved extremely useful in raising tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and other glasshouse- crops.
