Final Proposal for the Implementation of the Yala Development Project

Abstract

The Government of Kenya has invited R.V.A. to discuss their proposal for the implementation of the Yala Development Project submitted in September 1977, for which reason this Final Proposal has been prepared. The Yala Development Project comprises the reclamation and development of the Yala Swamp and about 100,000 additional hectares situated partly in the western and partly in the Nyanza Province. This total area hereinafter referred to as the Yala Area has already been the subject of several studies submitted to the Kenyan Government by international firms and organizations i.e. Sir Alexander Gibbs, Ilaco B.V. of Arnhem, The Netherlands, the ~food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Organization.
