Abstract

Within the framework of a programme of monitoring soil properties of the Kibirigwe Irrigation Scheme soil samples were taken for fertility analysis. On 27 vegetable plots, well distributed Over the scheme, two composite samples were taken from the topsoil (0 - 20 an). Most plots to be put under irrigation are located within the UBr soil mapping unit" So 23 out of the 27 sampled plots Cover the UBr soil, being a deep, well drained, reddish brown clay soil.
