East African industrial Research Organization Annual Report for the period 1971-1972

Abstract

The proposal to establish an E.A. Industrial Research Council and expand industrial research in East Africa was mentioned in the previous five Annual Reports but at the time of writing no significant progress had been made in furtherance of the project. A decision has, however, been made to retain industrial research under the policy control and direction of the Common Market Council. This small step is important in that the entire matter is now seen to be the responsibility of that Council, and meaningful progress can be expected in the near future.
