Experimental work involving the antibiotic response and benefit derived from addition of Aureomycin and Terramycin at certain levels to the normal chick diet has shown that these antibiotics promote early growth and reduce mortality in growing chicks. There are varying schools of thought regarding the way these antibiotics effect the response but the "Disease Control Theory" seems to be carrying the heaviest weight.en
