Highlights of Achievements In 50 Years of Agricultural Research

Abstract

Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARl) was established through the Science and Technology Act (Cap 250) of 1979. Under this Act, KARl was given the mandate to conduct research in agriculture and veterinary sciences. The institute co-operates with organizations and institutions of higher learning in capacity building programmes on matters relevant to advancing research technologies and innovations; liaises with other re earch bodies within and outside Kenya carrying out similar research and disseminate research findings using several channels and extension providers.
