Abstract

One of the objectives of the Socio-economic component of the Larger Grain Borer Research Project (LGBRP) is to characterise the maize production, storage and marketing system in areas presently infested with the Larger Grain Borer (LGB) Prostephanus truncatus horn, and the impact of this insect upon these systems. To do this formal surveys were carried out in three Divisions: Kibwezi in Machakos District, Oloitokitok in Kajiado District, and Wundanyi in Taita-Taveta District.
