Abstract

Uasin Gishu District has extensive areas with poorly drained soils. During the rainy season these soils are too wet (in the 'rainy seasonal for arable farming and have been set aside for grazing purposes. However I due to increased demand for arable land, attention is now focused on these poorly drained soils. To make these soils suitable for agricultural activities the drainage condition has to be improved.
