Abstract
A large area of northern Tanganyika lying mid-way between the Indian Ocean and Victoria Nyanza is still very imperfectly known to biological science. This paper deals with a section, c ntred about 150 miles west of Kilimanjaro, that is traversed by the Rift Valley and is physiographic ally one of the most remarkable in the African continent.
