Abstract

Sorghum is an important staple food crop in the country, especially in the low potential areas of food production. The crop is ranked second after maize in terms of the area under production in Nyanza Province. There are several physical and biological factors that constraint sorghum production of which striga weed, several pests and diseases are the most important resulting in yield reduction.
