East African Agricultural And Forestry Research Organization Annual Report 1969/1970

Abstract

In the 1968-69 Annual Report mention was made of the proposal to establish an E.A. Industrial Research Council which would supervise the work of the EAIRO and that of the proposed new Institutes in Uganda and Tanzania. It was also stated that no further progress could be made along this line until the "Working Party on Research Priorities and Administration" had presented its findings. The Workjng Party produced its report early in 1970, and at the time of writing this Armual Report the appropriate Community Councils had not completed their deliberations on the report. Consequently no progress has been made in setting up the Research Council and no steps have been taken on the proposal to establish the new Institutes.
