Applications of remote sensing In earth resources monitoring In Kenya

Abstract

The Kenya Rangeland Ecological Monitoring Unit (KREMIJ) has developed a number of methods for combining' satellite, aerial and ground observations to provide data on agriculture, forestry, vegetation and related topics. Their activities include both mapping and monitoring existing resources and land uses. The methods, materials and equipment used are in most cases easily adaptable for application in any large area where reliable data are needed quickly and economically for national or regional planning.
