Department Of Agriculture Annual Report 1917-1918.

Abstract

I have the honour to submit my Annual Report of the Agricultural Department for the year ending 31st March, Hills, together with reports of the Chiefs of Divisions and certain in other Officers of the Department. The past year has been one of the most trying on record for the Agricultural Community during the history of the Protectorate. This has been due to a number of causes, among which the following may be enumerated:- (1) The continued absence in connection with war duties of many of the country's most important farmers and planters, the resulting loss of man-power and energy which would have been devoted to development is clearly to be seen on every hand.
