Abstract

I would like to express my thanks to Mr Gilbert Kibata, Chief Entomologist, Kenya Agricultural Research Institute, and his staff for assistance during this investigation, especially Mr Stephen Koech who accompanied me during all field visits. I wish also to express my thanks to Mr Osoro Umba, Pest and Quality Control Manager, and Mr Simon Muhihu, Operations Manager, both of the National Cereals and Produce Board, for information and invaluable assistance in enabling visits to be made to NCPB premises. Finally, the significant assistance provided by the many staff at NCPB stores, particularly those in pest control who readily gave information, is recognised, as is that from those in commercial servicing companies who were similarly cooperative
